Hey have you ever played Phantasy Star Online for the Dreamcast that game was sweet! I created my character to look like Gene Starwind from Outlaw Star and I even gave him the same name. Man I kicked so much butt in that game, and you could do missions in it where you got paid to kick butt. I wish I still had it, it definitely helped pass the time on boring Saturdays.

Never had one? Wow, well you missed out, if Sega had put a DVD player into the Dreamcast, Sega would still be on top, or that's what almost all of the experts believed, gaming experts.

Sega just could not compete with Nintendo, and later, Sony. Despite having the most superior system on the market at the time, Sega just did not feel that it could keep up with Sony and Nintendo. And the announcement that Microsoft was making the leap of faith from Computer to Console market scared them as well.
Third Party Developers did not give much support to Sega for that reason...many of the Dreamcast's best games were developed by Sega themselves. With Sega's penchant for suddenly dropping their game systems off the face of the earth, third party developers were reluctant to get involved with them, because they knew it would be a failure. Alot of the third party games that made it to the Dreamcast were ports from other systems, done so purely for the sake of advancing the developer's own finances, not for support of Sega.

The same could be said about Nintendo, as i'm sure you already know Nintendo originally went to Sony for help in changing their games from cartridge to disc, but Sony decided to stab Nintendo in the back and started their own system, that we all know as the Playstion. Luckily Nintendo was able to recover and bounce back and come back stronger than ever, and now they're giving Sony a run for their money.

True, but you can't really compare Performance consoles with "4Fun" consoles... "4Fun" consoles sell better, because they have those useful games, so that the whole family can play. Performance consoles are more serious, they're more for the hard-core gamers.

Look at the PSP2 vs 3DS fights.. Like "oh, PSP2 has everything, but like, no 3D screen, it sucks, 3DS owns it cuz it HAS 3D".. I wouldn't like to feck up my eyes by looking at a 3D screen all the times... 3D is not even that much of fun on a small portable screen. I'd go for PSP2
(getting far off topic here, my apologies, if it will go on, I'll just make a new topic and move the off topic messages there)

You're not too far off topic, you should probably create a topic that incorporates all systems past and present then you could compare and contrast all of them.
