Live-action Dragonball movies good idea or bad?
« on: December 29, 2010, 05:34:25 am »
I saw the one the chinese did back in 93 it was ok pretty close to the anime series storywise. I never did see the one hollywood did I heard. conflicting stories about it. Was the story anywhere close to the original story?

Hollywood totally f***ed it up, sadly.. Almost everything was lame.
Like.. Goku never went to a highschool, and in the movie he does.. You know, no offence, but they twisted it into another "american shit stereotype" like.. "teenager dude [the f***ing hero], falls in love with a popular girl, he goes to her b-day party, some dudes attack him, he uses his superpowers and beats the crap out of them like it's nothing, blah blah blah"
Even the chinese version was better.

STAY AWAY FROM DEATH NOTE, HOLLYWOOD!!!

I figured it was going to be bad, because hollywood has always taken great titles from various series, video games, movies, and turned classics into jokes. Like Godzilla, in Japan, heck all over the world it's a classic, hollywood got their hands on it changed everything except his name and they called that garbage Godzilla, I mean come on! Or like Street Fighter an awesome game, anime series, movies, well except Street Fighter Alpha, and Generations, but America took what was supposed to be a great action adventure movie, and turned it into a comedy that wasn't even funny! I hoped they do better with Akira and Lupin the Third. By the way did you just say they are going to do a Deathnote movie?

Yep, they will. Also Evangelion (as I heard), Ghost In The Shell and probably Full Metal Panic...

Knowing Hollywood they would do that. Lately they have been making movies out of canceled tv shows, and making sequels to movies that came out at least 10 years ago. Talk about running out of good ideas, I mean let's take a bad idea, turn it into a movie, then after the movie bombs make a sequel. pure genius! You know i'm kidding right? ;)

Hollywood sure misses some originality...

Ye, like a friend of mine said when he saw the preview for the new Rambo, he said that Rambo should have been holding a walker not a machine gun, lol.
